Advanced Modelling and Risk Analysis of RC Buildings with Sliding Isolation Systems Designed by the Italian Seismic Code

چکیده
Double Curved Concave Surface Sliders (DCCSS) are seismic isolators based on the pendulum principle widely used worldwide. Coherently with European code, DCCSS do not include any mechanical elements as end-stopper. In case of displacement higher than those associated design earthquakes, inner slider runs edge sliding surfaces beyond their geometric capacity keeping ability to support gravity loads. this paper, advanced modelling and risk analysis reinforced concrete (RC) base-isolated buildings designed for medium high seismicity zones according Italian code has been assessed considering new construction existing structures retrofitted using isolation technique. Pushover analyses nonlinear dynamic including inelastic superstructure behaviour over-stroke system have carried out. Annual rates failure computed Usability-Preventing Damage (UPD) related inter-storey drift Global Collapse (GC) ultimate DCCSS. Moreover, is assumed an extra-displacement more 30% maximum geometrical displacement. Results pointed out that in GC UPD conditions occur almost at same intensity, while cases building, dominant limit state, being reached intensity level lower GC.

Seismic fragility assessment of RC moment resisting frame buildings designed for different editions of Iranian seismic design code
Background and objective: Developing fragility and vulnerability functions are important tools in seismic reliability assessment of buildings and are widely used in regional seismic risk studies. To date sufficient studies for developing analytical fragility functions for Iranian code-conforming buildings have not been carried out. Performing such studies are necessary to assess the adequacy of...
متن کاملProbabilstic Seismic Risk Evaluation of Rc Buildings
As more and more emphasis is being laid on non-linear analysis of RC framed structures subjected to earthquake excitation, the research and development on both non-linear static (pushover) analysis as well as nonlinear dynamic (time history)analysis is in the forefront. Due to prohibitive computational time and efforts required to perform a complete nonlinear dynamic analysis, researchers and d...
متن کاملSeismic Performance of RC Frames Irregular in Elevation Designed Based on Iranian Seismic Code
Setback in elevation of a structure is a special irregularity with considerable effect on its seismic performance. This paper addresses multistory Reinforced Concrete (RC) frame buildings, regular and irregular in elevation. Several multistory Reinforced Concrete Moment Resisting Frames (RCMRFs) with different types of setbacks, as well as the regular frames in elevation, are designed according...
متن کاملSeismic Performance of Torsionally Stiff and Flexible Single Story Buildings Designed Based on Iranian Seismic Code(Standard 2800)
This paper examines differences in performances of a range of torsionally stiff and flexible single story buildings designed with the provisions of Iranian Standard 2800. Seismic nonlinear dynamic time history behavior of eight building models subjected to seven horizontal bi-directional design spectra compatible ground motions are investigated. These models cover a wide range of very torsional...
متن کاملEffect of seismic sequences on fragility of Iranian code-conforming shear wall RC buildings
Background and objective: Estimating the vulnerability rate of urban textures in seismic incident following a major earthquake (aftershocks) is crucial in decision making and crisis management. For this purpose, it is necessary to calculate the vulnerability of buildings due to the successive incidents and to use them in the vulnerability estimation for probable future aftershocks. Seismic frag...
